Obesity is one of the most serious problems that many people face, according to the announcement by Dr. Ali Khammas, Head of the UAE Division for Bariatric Surgery. In 2018, obesity rates for males in the UAE reached 35% and among females more than 45% in the age group between 20 and 40 years old. There are many techniques and processes used to face this problem and one of the most famous techniques:
Fat Freezing
This technique does not depend on surgery as it depends on freezing fats in a specific area of the body under the skin. As it divides the areas in the body that need to break down fats into sessions, and it is possible to break up fats in three areas in one session. This differs according to the weight of each person, if these fat cells are frozen, the body gets rid of them through the liver.
This technology was approved by the US Food and Drug Administration in 2012, and it takes 1-4 months for a person to notice the difference and the session takes about an hour. This technique works to get rid of fat cells in a specific area, unlike diet and sport that target the whole body.
This technique has several advantages:
-It is a safe technology and relatively low risk
-A person can resume his life immediately after the session
-It reduces the chance of returning excess weight again
This operation does not need any kind of surgery, so it reduces appearance of surgical scars and infections. Although it is considered as a safe technique, but there are some cases this technique does not suit them:
-If you are under 18 years
-If you suffer from a general weakness of immune system
-Pregnant or breastfeeding
-If you have a disease that increases the levels of (cryoglobulins) in the blood
-If you have Raynaud’s disease
-If you suffer from neurological conditions such as: Diabetic Nephropathy
-If you suffer from skin diseases such as: Eczema and Psoriasis
